Mindfulness Sessions in the Early Learning Centre

These sessions run weekly throughout the school term, for the number of weeks specified by Sparkle and Calm. Each session runs for 30 minutes. The cost specified in the registration process is paid upfront for the term. If you need to cancel a session for your child then Sparkle and Calm will allow for one makeup session throughout the same term, only if there is availability at that facility. Sessions are non transferable to other terms. The registration process is to be completed by the parent/guardian prior to the term commencing.

Sparkle and Calm Products

All products purchased from Sparkle and Calm are final (unless the product ordered and received arrives in a damaged state, and it was a fault from us) and are sold on a no return or credit basis once an order has been completed, and payment has been processed. Payment is to be made prior to dispatch. Delivery is by Australia Post. Free local pick up in Sydney, Australia is also available.

Laura Coetzee, sole teacher of Sparkle and Calm is committed to ensure the highest standards of care and safety for any child attending teaching by Sparkle and Calm. There is to be transparent and respectful interaction between teacher and parent/guardian/care-giver, to uphold safety of the child. Sparkle and CALM maintains a culturally safe environment whereby diverse identities, backgrounds and experiences of all are respected and valued.

Online communication and photography

Conducted via the registered email address of the parent/carer/facility. Written consent from the parent/guardian will be obtained prior to any photography taken of a child. The child will also be asked during the session if they feel comfortable having their photo taken, and will have the option not to be included or identified in the photo. Any photography taken may be shared on Sparkle and Calm social platforms, with the written consent from the parent/guardian obtained during the registration process.

Illness/Injury management

All children have the right to be in a safe environment, ensuring well-being.  All important medical needs of the child are to be disclosed to Sparkle and Calm in the registration process. The parent/guardian will be required to complete a permission form to allow Sparkle and Calm to contact emergency services if needed, and list two emergency contacts. Any injuries will be logged and first aid given as needed.

Mandatory reporting

Sparkle and Calm is legally obligated to be a mandatory reporter for all children up to the age of 15 years. Concerns about safety or welfare listed below will require a report to Communities and Justice (DCJ), enforced by state and federal law. Basic physical or psychological needs of the child not being met, Not having the arranged necessary medical care, Not receiving an education in accordance with the Education Act 1990, Risk of physical or sexual abuse, or ill treatment, Serious risk of psychological harm due to emotional abusive behaviour, Incidents of domestic violence whereby the child is at risk of harm.
